Inno-te-co Co., Ltd. (CEO Kim In-ho), a company specializing in the development of gas safety devices, has developed and begun distributing a portable carbon monoxide (CO) alarm.

The CO alarm (Model Name: Gas Smarter) developed by the company is suitable for outdoor camping. It applies an electrochemical gas sensor and features various alarms, including a yellow LED, flashing lights, a buzzer, and voice guidance. Its rated voltage is 5V, utilizing a 3.7V 700mA rechargeable battery, with a power consumption of 4.5mW. The operating temperature is –20 to +40℃, and it is very lightweight at 80g.

In particular, this product can be used standalone or linked with a smartphone. When an alarm is triggered, users can directly verify it by pressing the 'Confirm Alarm' button on the dedicated application (available for Android and iOS mobile apps). Furthermore, if the 'Confirm Alarm' is not pressed for 5 minutes after an alarm indicating a dangerous CO gas situation (over 300ppm), a text message is automatically sent to the designated emergency contact.

The text message includes the location information of the incident, making it very easy to identify the location during rescue operations.

Kim In-ho, CEO of Inno-te-co, stated, "This portable carbon monoxide alarm was developed so that campers can enjoy a safe camping life outdoors, and I am confident it will be helpful for gas safety during camping or car camping." He added, "Our goal is to become South Korea's representative gas sensor specialized company through future overseas expansion."

Inno-te-co, a technology startup based on gas sensor technology, was founded in May 2019 and transitioned into a corporation in January of last year. The company has also developed a portable gas detector for city gas safety inspections.
